As some of you know, I am currently working as a Child Development Research Assistant here at the University of Virginia. This experience has provided me with many valuable opportunities to learn and better myself. In June I attended a Research Conference in Washington D.C. Over the summer I worked with my colleague to write a proposal for a poster presentation in the SRCD conference coming up this March. The proposal was accepted into the conference and we are now working on developing the poster. Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend this conference =(
During my fall semester I was presented with an opportunity to write my very own proposal and submit it to the Curry Research Conference here at my school. I cannot begin to tell you how hard this process was, being that I was so new to it. There were times where I sat in front of the computer wanting to give up because I couldn't understand the language of the research world, or what it is I was doing. Luckily, I made it through and my proposal was accepted for a poster presentation at the conference. Over Christmas break I worked on the poster and presented it on February 11th. It went very well. I was one of five (of the first) undergraduates to be accepted into this conference. The other four girls did a project together and I did mine on my own (because I work in a separate building off campus and they did their study as part of a program). This was such a wonderful experience, although difficult and I wanted to share it all with you. I wish all of you could have been there!!
Me and my poster =)
Great note Ashley. We know how hard you worked on this and again, we are so proud of you! Love the picture and your poster looks great! xoxo
